Tale Sparks is designed for parents, guardians, teachers, and families who want to create child-friendly stories. It may be used with children, but profile and device management are intended to be handled by an adult.

2. How story generation works

Tale Sparks uses artificial intelligence to generate stories based on the options you choose in the app.

When you generate a story, a request is processed through our service and sent to OpenAI's API so a new story can be created and returned to your device.

3. What information may be used

Depending on how you use the app, story generation may involve:

• child age
• reading level
• selected genre
• selected style
• story length
• optional extra details entered by the user
• a session identifier used for safety and misuse prevention

4. Name handling

Tale Sparks can use a child display name in generated stories when a name is provided in profile fields or story details.

Parents should use first names or nicknames only and avoid entering identifying details in optional free-text fields.

5. Important note about free-text fields

If you type extra details into optional notes, comments, or similar fields, that text may be included in the story generation request. Because of that, you should not enter school names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, medical details, or other sensitive or identifying information.

6. Safety and content filtering

Before a story request is sent for generation, Tale Sparks checks input against blocked terms designed to help detect inappropriate or unsafe themes such as sexual content, child sexual abuse material, violence, hate content, drugs, grooming language, and similar harmful topics.

If unsafe content is detected, the request may be blocked and access may be restricted for that session.

7. Session-based safety tracking

To help prevent misuse, Tale Sparks stores session-based safety information such as violation counts and bans. This information may be stored server-side for a limited period to support abuse prevention and access restrictions.

This safety data is intended for misuse prevention, not for building user profiles of children or families.

8. Data storage and servers

Tale Sparks does not claim that no data ever touches a server. Story requests are processed through our service and OpenAI's API, and session-based safety data may be stored for abuse prevention.

Local profiles and preferences may also be stored on your device, depending on how the app is used.

9. OpenAI processing

Story generation is powered by OpenAI. Story setup choices and optional free-text details may be included in generation requests when provided. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information.

10. Payments

If purchases are offered through Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google Play. We do not directly process card details through the app.

11. Children's privacy

We do not intend for children to submit sensitive personal information directly. Adults using the app should avoid entering school names, addresses, phone numbers, contact details, medical information, or other identifying information into free-text fields.

12. Reports and safety concerns

If the app includes a report feature, users may use it to flag generated content they believe is inappropriate or unsafe. Please only include the information needed to describe the concern.

13. Data retention

Device-stored information may remain on your device until removed by you. Session-based safety records may be retained temporarily on our server for misuse prevention and enforcement purposes.
